xvi. Provisions and Contingencies:
A provision is recognized when the company has a present obligation as a result of past events & it is a probable that anoutflow of resources embodying economic benefit will be required to settle the obligation and reliable estimate can be madeof amount of the obligation. Provisions (excluding retirement benefits) are not discounted to their present value and aredetermined based on the best estimate required to settle the obligation at the Balance sheet date. These estimates are reviewedat each reporting date and adjusted to reflect the current best estimates. Contingent liabilities are disclosed in the notes unlessthe possibility of outflow of resources is remote. Contingent assets are neither recognized nor disclosed in the financialstatements.
