Mid Session- Indices trade flat; Tata Power Company rises 3%

The domestic benchmark indices have erased morning gains and are trading flat in the afternoon session on Thursday, dragged by auto stocks. Among sectors bank stocks are trading in green whereas auto stocks are trading in red.

Among others, the shares of Tata Power Company rose over 3 per cent after the global research firm Citi maintained a buy rating on the stock, with target at Rs 76 per share. The research firm expects 55 percent upside in a bull-case scenario, which points to a target of Rs 100 per share.

At 12:28 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37327.43 up by 56.61 points or by 0.15 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11045.9 up by 10.2 points or by 0.09 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 37435.15 and intraday low of 37227.95 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11081.75 and intraday low of 11015.8.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 404.60,+2.60%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 2109.65,+1.83%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1394.70,+1.68%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 426.65,+1.09%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2269.15,+0.90%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 58.80,-4.55%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 68.65,-4.12%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 129.50,-3.61%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6487.90,-1.67%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 671.00,-1.57%), among others.

Among sectors, Bankex index was at 31442.9 up by 226.76 points or by 0.73%. ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 404.60,+2.60%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1394.70,+1.68%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2269.15,+0.90%), State Bank of India (Rs. 286.40,+0.39%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 85.90,+0.23%),.

On the flip side, Auto index was at 16477.12 down by -188.71 points or by -1.13%. Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 129.50,-3.61%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (Rs. 16680.00,-1.96%), TVS Motor Company Ltd. (Rs. 395.55,-1.80%), Bosch Ltd. (Rs. 14010.00,-1.70%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6487.90,-1.67%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2443 , shares advanced were 1403 while 906 shares declined and 134 were unchanged.
