Post-Session: Sensex, Nifty extend losses into 3rd session on surging crude prices

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty nursed losses for the third consecutive session on Friday, in lockstep with a weak trend in global equities as concerns over economic growth and quarterly earnings sapped risk appetite.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 77378.91 down by -241.3 points or by -0.31 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23431.5 down by -95 points or by -0.4 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77919.7 and intraday low of 77099.55 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23596.6 and intraday low of 23344.35

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 4265.55,+5.67%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1703.00,+3.63%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1995.60,+3.13%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1966.70,+2.55%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1699.85,+0.55%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 937.60,-4.41%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 308.20,-3.78%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 10866.20,-3.57%), State Bank of India (Rs. 743.15,-2.26%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1785.00,-2.25%), among others.
