India’s import reserves fell around USD 5 billion in December 2018: RBI

The Reserve Bank of India stated in its foreign exchange reserves half yearly report that India’s import reserves fell about USD 5 billion in the period of September 2018 to December 2018 and that to 9.1 months from 9.5 months in December 2018.

The report further mentioned that the ratio of short-term debt to the foreign exchange reserves, progressed to 26.4 per cent from 26.1 per cent, In the same period.

As per the report, the changes are the results of foreign exchange reserves falling down to USD 395.59 from USD 400.52 for the period mentioned.
